The Beginnings
The Beginnings
I was born on March 2nd, 1959, but my life started on August 6th, 1983....
That was the day I finally got the nerve to give her a kiss (it literally took
weeks!) and the first time I saw the 'beacon' like light shining from her eyes.
We were on the beach. There was lightning flashing off in the distance, a gentle
breeze and waves quietly splashing against the shore. Conditions were perfect. I
was nervous all night. When I finally gathered the courage, I confessed to her
that I've had a crush on her for a couple of years. That was the best confession
I ever made.
Unfortunately, on May 8th, 2006, my life was completely torn apart by the death
of my wife. We've basically been joined at the hip for over 23 years. Everywhere
we went, we held hands and "goo goo"ed at each other. My co-workers were always
telling us to "get a room!"
We shared our plans for family and future, our deepest fears, darkest secrets,
most embarrassing moments, everything under the sun revolved around the fact
that we'd be together and have complete trust in each other for the rest of our
lives.
She is survived by my self, our Son Art (my step son, a full time Youth
Minister/Student and an incredibly strong individual who I'm extremely proud
of), her Mom (Carol), Dad (Dennis), 2 brothers (Ron and Mike) several nieces and
nephews, our 2 dogs (Nakita and Ashley) and 3 cats (Bandit, Blondie and Punkin'
(short for Pumpkin)).
